Dr. Kim attended the Korean Society of Marine Biotechnology and delivered an oral presentation. He also met with former senior colleagues, Dr. Jongrae Kim (Daesang Corporation) and Dr. Hancheol Jeon (National Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea), to catch up on old times. The keynote lectures by Professor EonSeon Jin (Hanyang University) and Professor Gwang Hoon Kim (Kongju National University) were very interesting, and as a team leader, he realized that there is much to learn from both professors.

Time really flew by. Juhui’s contract has ended. We hope she succeeds in getting a job at a company just as she wants!

We invited Professor Dong Soo Hwang from POSTECH to present on his research regarding carbon reduction using the ocean. We hope that our researchers will gain inspiration for their respective research directions through Professor Hwang’s presentation.

Dr. Kim and Jaehyun attended the kickoff meeting for a new project held in Jeju and strengthened their resolve toward a common goal. Afterwards, while hiking to Jeju International Airport and watching the magnificent sunset, they pledged to enjoy their research for the remainder of 2026.

Dr. Kim attended the Korea-France Ornithological Researcher Networking held at the KIOST headquarters in Busan, where he presented on his current research topic and engaged in exchange. We hope this opportunity will contribute to the expansion of APBL’s research network.

Congratulations!! Our research team has participated in a project supported by the development of an advanced platform for recombinant drug production based on marine-derived nanomachines of the Korea Institute of Marine Science & Technology Promotion, funded by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The project participation period is for three years, from May 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028, and we plan to conduct research utilizing signal peptides and chaperones from marine microalgae.

Congratulations!! Our research team will participate as a commissioned research team in the Strategic Research Program of the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB) starting in May 2026. During the assigned period, we plan to establish metabolic engineering strategies for model microalgae and conduct research on improving fatty acid compatibility in non-model microalgae through metabolic engineering. We are delighted to participate in this wonderful project that can contribute to society.

Congratulations!! We have been selected for a New Researcher Project supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea for five years, from March 1, 2026, to February 28, 2031. We plan to conduct research on the regulation of carbon metabolism by DYRKP.
